Successful Last Minute Trip Planning for 4th Of July Weekend

July 4th is this Friday. You would love to head out on a last-minute vacation for the weekend, maybe longer, but you haven't even thought about where you'd like to travel! If you think it's impossible to throw an awesome trip together at the last minute, think again! Here are five things to keep in mind when planning an impromptu out of town trip:

1) Choose a location where the activities are basically planned for you. Anything from last-minute cruises, to trips to one of the major U.S. cities, such as Washington, DC, Las Vegas, New Orleans... all of these locations always have something fun happening.

And thanks to our Trip Ideas feature, you don't have to ask around about those fun happenings. Once you're logged into Outski, you can search any destination and you'll be provided with great things to see and do. Pretty much all you have to do is book a flight, grab a hotel, and show up.

Oh, and pack. That might be a good idea. Which leads us to our next point...

2) At Outski, we love to travel. This is why we always recommend having a suitcase within easy access at any given moment. It's also a good idea to have a generic packing list saved inside of your suitcase, which outlines everything one would need for a typical vacation. However, if you're not that organized, it's okay! Just grab your favorite outfits, and then mentally run through your morning routine, and you'll be sure to remember all the essentials. If worse comes to worse, there will hopefully be an abundance of toothbrushes at any drugstore once you arrive at your destination. ;)

3) Shop flights and hotels through Outski's booking system. Because we have partnered with wholesale travel provider LMT (hey, they're named Last Minute Travel), you can be confident that you'll always be getting great deals on travel to places near and far. Also, another excellent benefit to having an Outski account is that you don't have to pay the $50/year that LMT usually charges to have access to their rock-bottom prices.

4) Since you only have to hit up one website (ours) on your pre-travel journey, you will save tons of time. Not only can you book through our website, you can also coordinate travel plans in a quick, efficient way with other trip attendees. Outski has thought of it all, and has taken the headache out of travel planning.

We even have an app you can use to check the balance of your Travel Savings Card, send/receive money, keep itinerary items easily accessible, and much more!

5) Finally, you absolutely MUST let go, relax, and take the time to get away! Your world will be there when you get back. We understand that you're busy, and this is why we have made it as easy for you as possible. However, you have to do your part as well. Outski truly believes that taking vacations is important to a person's overall health, and we believe that everyone should be able to take one... no matter the budget. (For longer term vacation plans, see also: Vacation Savings Account and 401(play)™).

By the time you've run through these steps, all you'll have left to do is grab your keys and head to the airport.
